Graduation day is fast approaching for Boston, Candy, Mabel, Molly, Rebel and Rita, the BARK dogs participating in Botetourt Correctional Facility’s 16-week Correctional Companions training program. Inmate caretakers have worked diligently to teach the dogs obedience and socialization skills that will make them outstanding family members. Housetraining, crate training, Sit, Stay, Come... they’ve learned it all. The only thing left is for each dog to find a loving forever home.

BARK’s mission is to rescue orphaned or abandoned pets and other adoptable dogs from animal shelters in the Richmond area, provide spay/neuter and vaccinations, then find loving, forever homes for them. In 2007, BARK placed over 700 dogs in forever homes. Learn about BARK’s History.
